After the announcement regarding the SEC vs GS this Friday, the buck skyrocketed.

Then yesterday, the Bank of Canada Governor Mark Carney dropped his year-old pledge to keep the benchmark interest rate at 0.25 per cent through mid-2010 or later, depending on what happens with inflation.

USD/CAD fell about 152 pips in 5 minutes after the news release.

This past friday, the SEC announced it was charging GS with civil fraud.

The US rose about 130 pips and stock markets across the world collapsed as people moved away from risk.

A successful experiment saw scientists grow rabbit penises that allowed males to mate, ejaculate and procreate


If scientists can help Peter Cottontail get an erection, there may be hope for the other flaccid Peters of the world.

Researchers at Wake Forest University in North Carolina have grown functional rabbit penises that allow male rabbits to mate, ejaculate and procreate. The results of their experiment were published in the latest issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

The research team took small pieces of tissue and isolated cells from them – both smooth muscle cells (which make the penis’s tissue relax during an erection) and endothelial cells (which line blood vessels).

They put the cells in 3-D scaffolds shaped like penises and, over the span of several weeks, grew them and then replaced 12 rabbits’ penises with the organs they had engineered.”

The video of Rosenberg claims that if you are watching, he has been murdered by President Alvaro Colom with help from presidential secretary Gustavo Alejos. “The video spread across the Internet after family members handed it out during Rosenberg’s funeral on Monday. In the 18-minute tape, a seemingly calm Rosenberg, sitting behind a desk and microphone, alleges that Colom, the First Lady and two associates were involved in murder, corruption and money laundering.

PASADENA, Calif. — An asteroid about the size of one that blasted Siberia a century ago just buzzed the Earth.

The asteroid named 2009 DD45 was about 77,250 kilometres from Earth when it zipped past early Monday, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory reported.

That is just twice as high as the orbits of some telecommunications satellites and about a fifth of the distance to the Moon.

“This was pretty darn close,” astronomer Timothy Spahr of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics said Wednesday.
Asteroid

The space rock measured between 21 metres and 47 metres in diameter. The Planetary Society said that made it the same size as the asteroid that exploded over Siberia in 1908 and levelled more than 2,071 square kilometres of forest.
